The Lovelady Center Mission Statement
Empowering women and their children, through faith-based initiatives, so they can return to society as well-equipped people of God. The program is about empowerment, hope and a belief in the value of each and every human life.
It is our mission to help women rebuild their lives and walk forward with faith-driven hope for the future as a contributing member of our community and as viable, equipped mothers. The Lovelady Program ensures each woman is taught how to overcome barriers to success by providing access to needed services.
You can give a person shelter, food and clothing, but if they cannot support themselves, the cycle of poverty and incarceration will not be broken.
The Lovelady Center's Statement of Faith
We believe the Gospel is the virgin birth, the sinless life, sacrificial death, resurrection and imminent return of God's Son, Jesus Christ, to earth.
The Gospel means more to us than just belief in Jesus. It is a belief that "all have sinned and have come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)." "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23)." God, in His grace, gave His Son to pay a price that man could never pay. Through Faith in Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection, the Lord has given man the gift of eternal life if one chooses to accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
We believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is One God, the Trinity. We believe Jesus Christ embodied all the fullness of the Godhead. He was God Himself in human flesh (Colossians 2:9).
We believe the Gospel offers more than just eternal life. We believe that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and to bring abundant life for eternity as well as here on earth. "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8)." "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly (John 10:10)."
The Gospel is the key to deliverance from the bondage of sin. It is the key to a happy, fulfilling life here on earth. We believe that Jesus is not just an example of how we should live our lives, but that He is the Only Example of how we are to live our lives here on earth. Because of the resurrection, man has a hope and a future – if he chooses it. There is power, everlasting power, in the sacrificial blood of the Holy Lamb, and it is this hope that transforms lives.
